Early Identification, Intervention Services

The Early Identification, Intervention Services (EIIS) program is specifically for infants and young children who may display some type of developmental, behavioral concern or who are at risk for disabilities or special needs. The purpose of EIIS is to identify mild concerns in orders to provide early intervention to the child “at risk.” EIIS services are provided through a variety of activities, both clinical and non-clinical, to ensure that these children grow to their greatest potential.

Initial Services

Services for EIIS start with the administration of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire 3, and the Ages and Stages Social Emotional (ASQ and the ASQ-SE) are used as an initial screening tool to evaluate the child’s current level of functioning.

The ASQ 3 screens identifies 5 domains:

  • Communication
  • Gross Motor
  • Fine Motor
  • Problem Solving
  • Personal-Social

The ASQ-SE screens:

  • Social-Emotional
  • Based on the results of ASQ/ASQ-SE, a nurse in-home visit and psycho-social assessment.

Treatment services may include:

  • Individual/Family Psychological Therapy
  • Parent/Child Interaction Therapy
  • Group Therapy
  • Theraplay
  • Play Therapy
  • Infant Massage
  • Sensory Processing
  • Parent Education
