Project WorkAbility I (WAI)
WorkAbility provides:
- A statewide cooperative to assist students with disabilities to enter the world of work.
- A coordinated program which integrates efforts of the Department of Rehabilitation, the Employment Development Department, Community Agencies, and Local Educational Agencies.
- A means for special needs students to complete their secondary education while also training in private and public sector jobs.
- Training and employment program working to benefit students, employers and the community at large.
The Student Application packet includes:
- Student/Parental Release(s)
- Student Emergency Card
- Oath of Allegiance for Persons Employed by a School District
- Student's Residential Status and Current Service Providers
- Emergency Procedures
- Steps for Obtaining a Work Permit
- Form W-4
- Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification
